Q. I am a host family looking for guests. How can Homestay Web help me?

When you become a member as a Host, you can benefit in the following ways :

1. You can make your profile page. You can keep your profile page on this site for as long as you like. You can edit and delete your profile at anytime.

2. You can be listed on Host Listing in this website and let Guests know about your offer. *You can receive emails from Guests.

3. You can view Guests' requests on the Message Board. *You can contact (send emails to) them, If you find some Guests which you would like to have.

*In order to send an email or to receive it, you or the other need to purchase the Premium-Passport.

Q. Can I become a member as a host for free?

Yes, you can register as a host family and your profile will be shown in our host listings. You can make your profile page and edit it on your own at anytime on the Member page.

However, if you are a non-paying host family, then a non-paying guest cannot send emails to you. In order to receive more emails from more guests, then you should purchase the "Premium-Passport".

Q. Do I need to meet any requirements for registering as a host family?

We ask that you fulfill the Homestay host requirements".

If you do not meet some of the reqirements, you can still register as a host under the condition that you explain exactly what you can offer and cannot offer guests.

Q. Can I get emails directly from guests?

Yes. You will receive emails to your registered email address. The guest can contact you through your profile page. Once you receive emails from the guest, you can simply exchange emails with each other after which point you do not need to log into Homestay Web to read or send emails to that specific guest.

If you receive emails from guests, you or the guest need to purchase the "Premium-Passport". If the guest has purchased the "Premium-Passport", you do not have purchase it.

Q. What is the Premium-Passport (Optional Pay Service) ?

When you purchase Premium-Passport, you can receive emails from guests on the Message Board as much as you want during the period for which you purchased the "Premium-Passport".

Once you have purchased it, there will be a star icon beside your name on the host listings. This indicates that you have purchased the "Premium-Passport" and potential guests who have not paid the "Premium-Passport" fee, can easily contact you for Free of charge to them. More host's entitlements.

Q. Is HomestayWeb a homestay agency? Can you find my guests for me?

No, we are not a homestay agency. HomestayWeb is a notice board for host families and guests.
You must register on the website and create your ad (profile page) on your own.

Q. I would like to have Online Payments.

For online payments, we only offer the PayPal button on the host family's profile page.The PayPal button is only for the host families who have purchased the "Premium-Passport". This is a PayPal payment service.

HomestayWeb is not connected with PayPal payments and we do not handle the financial transactions with the PayPal service.

*HomestayWeb has stopped accepting the deposit service as of April 2006.

Q. Can HomestyWeb organize reservations or transfer deposits or homestay fees?

The guest and host must agree together on their own the conditions of their contract.
If you need a deposit or the entire fee before the guests visit your home, please ask your guests directly. Once again, we only offer the PayPal button option for the Premium-Passport host family.

Q. How can I become a host in the HomestayWeb listings?

This is how to register as a host family on this website.

1. You have to register as a HomestayWeb member first. Please go to "Become a host".
2. Complete the form then click the "Register" button. You will receive a confirmation e-mail right away.
3. Click the link in the e-mail to complete the registration process.

Now you are a HomestayWeb member.

4. Then you go to "Member page".
5. Click on the "Edit your profile" button to fill out your profile.

Q. How will I know that my email to a guest on the Message Board is delivered to them?

We are sure your email was sent to the guest's email address, but unless they reply to you, you won't know their email address.

Q. If someone had put a request on the Message Board and then found a homestay, will their request be removed?

TThe guest can easily delete their message on their member page and also, the
message has an expiration date, therefore if they forget to delete their message,the message will be deleted in 3 months.
