About our homestay

Our family has hosted approximately 45 students/guests over the past 15 years. We enjoy having people from different cultures in our home! Most of our visitors have come from Japan, but we have also provided homestays to: African, French, German, Danish, Iraqi, Italian, Moldovan, Spanish, South American, Chinese, South Korean and Vietnamese guests. Our homestay guests are considered members of our family and we will include you in all that we do. We enjoy taking short day trips to the mountains or the beach, going shopping and visiting family and friends. Our house is truly your house and we welcome you!

Local information :

Our home is located near several excellent private schools as well as public schools. There are two major universities in town: University of North Carolina and Queens University. Our community college (Central Piedmont Community College) is highly ranked and offers free English classes to international students age 18+. Charlotte has many museums (art, science, race car, history, etc.) and a beautiful, busy down town. Public transportation is mostly by bus. We live in suburban Charlotte. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as grocery stores and a movie theater. The nearest bus stop is about a 1 mile walk from our home. However, if we can't give you a ride to where you want to go, we can usually give you a ride to the bus stop!
